ISMAILIA, Egypt, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- More than twenty Chinese companies jointly held a job fair on Monday at Suez Canal University (SCU) in Egypt's Ismailia province, offering about 300 job vacancies to graduates of various majors.
Co-organized by the Confucius Institute at SCU and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, the job fair is now in its fifth edition.
This year, it features companies from a wide range of industries, including construction, telecommunications, textiles and energy, offering positions in administration, translation, human resources, and more.
Nasser Mandour, president of Suez Canal University, said that the job fair serves as "an essential platform" that bridges Chinese enterprises in Egypt and young Egyptian jobseekers.
Nourhan Mostafa, a Chinese language teacher at SCU's Faculty of Languages, encourages students to participate in the job fair, saying "it provides valuable insights into the requirements and needs of Chinese companies for Egyptian graduates."
Xu Qifeng, executive director of Egypt-TEDA Investment Company, expressed on behalf of the employers the hope of recruiting talented local employees, noting that "approximately 180 enterprises are currently operating within the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, and they exhibit a significant demand for labor."
Zhang Huasheng, counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, said that the practical cooperation between China and Egypt in various fields has promoted educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
He added this could be exemplified by the success of the two Luban Workshops in Egypt and the Egyptian-Chinese College of Applied Technology of SCU.
"Over the past two years, a number of Chinese universities have visited Egypt to explore different forms of cooperation with Egypt in joint training, personnel training, and exchanges between teachers and students," Zhang said.
