BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia held the Indonesia Fair 2024 on August 17 in Beijing, China, which is the largest Indonesian product and cultural fair held in China, as well as a celebration for the 79th anniversary of the independence of Indonesia.
About 6,000 people participated in the event, including foreign envoys in China, Chinese businesspersons, Indonesian people in China, other foreigners, Chinese tourists, etc.
Indonesian ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun said in his opening speech at the event that Indonesia owns 17,000 islands which can bring unique experiences to tourists, and tourists can enjoy not only the Jakarta metropolis with skyscrapers, but also the beautiful natural scenery in southwest Indonesia.
During the event, participants appreciated entertainment programs, bought Indonesian export products that have entered the Chinese market, such as instant noodles, bird's nest products, coffee, biscuits, etc., tasted traditional Indonesian cuisine, and watched Indonesian cultural and artistic performances.
The Indonesia Fair 2024 is the second such fair held after the COVID-19 pandemic. The Indonesia Fair 2023 was held in May last year, with offline participants reaching about 5,000.
