BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- After workers spotting endangered wildlife activities near overhead wires, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company's local affiliate responded with rapid and orderly replacement of the exiting bare wires with insulated cables to better protect wild animals there.

During their recent regular patrols in the Jinfo Mountain National Nature Reserve in Nanchuan District of Chongqing, workers of Nanchuan District Power Supply Company found that black leaf monkeys, the national first-class protected animals in China, often perch in trees close to the overhead bare wires in the reserve.
To eliminate potential electric shock risks for black leaf monkeys and other wild animals, Nanchuan District Power Supply Company organized for several times experts and technical professionals to inspect the power transmission lines passing through the reserve.
After taking into consideration of concrete circumstances, the company that has always integrated the green development philosophy into power grid construction, decided to replace the bare wires of its overhead power transmission lines spanning the reserve with insulated cables.

From May 6 to 7, workers of the company overcame multiple difficulties such as the complex landform-triggered wire replacement obstacles and completed the wire change, which not only helps better protect wild animals in the reserve, but also improves the reliability and safety of related power transmission lines.
