BEIJING, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Earlier in April, Baotou National Rare-Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone was accredited by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) as a national base for business incubation by overseas talents, reported Baotou News, a local newspaper.
The rare earth high-tech zone has attracted 497 high-level overseas talents of various kinds, most of them are returnees who used to study abroad, to gather and start businesses there. At present, these overseas talents have led or initiated establishment of as many as 428 enterprises in Baotou National Rare-Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone which also keeps close contact with 753 overseas talents, according to the report.
By setting up four overseas work stations, the rare earth high-tech zone erected resources and innovation cooperation mechanisms with 29 overseas channels to enable business-starting by overseas returnees in Baotou, a crucial industrial city in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Upon accreditation of the national base, the rare earth high-tech zone intends to form an overseas talent and offshore innovators and business starters system by 2027 to further foster high-quality regional development.
Through pooling more talent resources from overseas, Baotou National Rare-Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone plans to craft itself into a zone where overseas high-caliber talents gather to undertake more international sci-tech and innovation cooperation and incubate related innovative achievements.
