MILAN, Oct. 23 (Class Editori) -- Maire Tecnimont secured a dual contract worth 60 million euros in Asia through its subsidiary, Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS).
The first transaction involves licensing and equipment supply contracts for an “Ultra Low Energy” urea plant in China for the client Shandong Lianmeng Chemical Company, with a capacity of 2,334 metric tons per day (MTPD), and will be located in Shouguang, in the Shandong Province. This will be the eighth global urea plant utilizing the Ultra-Low Energy design proprietary licensed from Stamicarbon, which is NextChem’s nitrogen fertilizer licensor.
The Ultra-Low Energy design allows for a 35% decrease in steam usage and a 16% decrease in cooling water consumption, resulting in an unparalleled energy savings within the market.
The second contract involves conducting a prefeasibility study by STS in the Middle East for a significant fertilizer producer to define the process configuration of a 450 MTPD green ammonia plant based on Stami Green Ammonia‘s proprietary technology.
In addition, NextChem has been awarded a contract by a major customer to provide engineering and equipment services for modifying an auxiliary system in an existing hydrogen unit (steam methane reformer) previously designed and licensed by Kinetics Technologies (KT), part of the IE&CS business unit, with the purpose to reduce the unit’s environmental impact.
