NANJING, July 20 (Xinhua) -- A China-France industrial cooperation park, which attracted over 1 billion U.S. dollars for the first-batch investment, was unveiled Tuesday in Wuxi, a vibrant city in east China's Jiangsu Province.
The project of the key area of the park, with total investment amounting to 500 million U.S. dollars, will be built in two phases. The first phase, which will start construction in August and will be completed by the end of 2024, will provide an industrialization base for smart manufacturing.
The second phase, which will start construction in June 2024 and will be completed in June 2025, is scheduled to build a China-France innovation center, commercial offices, French brand hotels and international apartments.
In addition, five key projects involving French industrial giants such as Schneider Electric and Legrand were signed at the site, with a total investment about 510 million U.S. dollars.
The launch of the park marks a new beginning of cooperation between China and France, and will encourage more local companies to cooperate with French companies in areas such as environmental engineering, renewable energy.
According to official data, the total French investment in Wuxi reached 674 million U.S. dollars, and Wuxi enterprises have invested 95.21 million U.S. dollars in France. (Contributed by Sun Yin)
