BEIJING, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai exported 83.99 billion yuan of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and 25.41 billion yuan of lithium batteries in 2022, increased 1.3 and 3.6 times year on year respectively, according to data released by Shanghai Customs Thursday, marking that the new energy products have became one of the main driving forces of Shanghai's export in 2022, reported Chinanews.com.
In order to meet the booming export demand for new energy products, Shanghai Customs strives to open a green channel from export declaration to release, so as to create a safe and convenient customs clearance environment.
On Wednesday, 540 Chinese-branded new energy vehicles were shipped to South Africa from Haitong International Automobile Dock in Shanghai's Waigaoqiao Port Area.
At the beginning of 2023, Shanghai's ports continued the good momentum of last year's export of new energy vehicles. Haitong Dock and Nangang Dock located in Lingang Special Area of Shanghai Free Trade Zone, as the two main automobile export docks in Shanghai, exported nearly 110,000 new energy vehicles in January, making a good start for 2023.
