The government of the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein plans to step up its digitalization efforts in the new year. Ten million euros will be made available for a special program that will, among other things, promote specific projects, the state’s digitalization ministry told dpa. Minister Dirk Schrödter wants to implement a cross-departmental digital strategy and further push the digital transformation of all areas of society in the state. According to Schrödter, the state government sees itself as a networked shaper of the ongoing digital transformation of all areas of life and work.
Schleswig-Holstein wants to be a pioneer in using digital innovations to better manage government tasks. The comprehensive availability of digital services for citizens and companies will also increases Schleswig-Holstein's attractiveness as a place to live, work, and do business, according to the ministry. The state government has developed guidelines for implementing its goals, which will be published and outlined in depth on Thursday.
