According to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Germany will remain a major industrial location even after its transformation to a zero-emissions future. "Germany is an industrial country and will remain so, even if we do everything we can to become CO2-neutral within a short period of time in 25 years," the politician said during a visit to the BMW motorcycle plant in the Berlin district of Spandau. He expressed his conviction that "good, high-performance, and inspiring products" will continue to come from Germany in the future. "This will be combined with highly qualified work that is typical of our country and must remain typical in the future," he said.
The chancellor was accompanied on the plant tour by Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey. The two politicians had details about motorcycle production, digitalization, logistics and quality assurance explained to them at various stations and spoke with employees. One particular focus was on electromobility.
