BEIJING, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker NIO unveiled its third-generation battery swap station and 500 kW ultra-fast charging pile at the NIO Day 2022 event held in Hefei, east China's Anhui Province, on Saturday, reported the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.
According to the company, NIO's third-generation battery swap station and its 500 kW ultra-fast charging pile will be available in March 2023.
The new battery swap station will have a fast charging speed, 20 percent faster than the previous generation battery swap station, the company said.
Meanwhile, it adopts a new power swap mode, raising capacity to 408 swaps per day, and can store up to 21 battery packs.
Besides, the 500 kW ultra-fast charger is open to all brands of electric vehicles and is capable of delivering a maximum charging current of 660 A.(Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
