BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese brands such as Dreame and Hisense were popular among overseas consumers during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping season in late November, reported the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal.
For example, Dreame's branded sweeper Dreame Bot L10s Ultra became the best selling cleaner in Amazon Germany on November 18, the first day of the Black Friday shopping promotion season.
Hisense sold 520,000 TVs on last year's Black Friday, setting a single day sales record. Considering the fact, it prepared sufficient goods this year for distribution to mainstream sales channels in the U.S. such as Walmart, Best Buy, Sam's Club and Target department store, only to find its products were sold out on Black Friday, according to a staff of Hisense U.S. branch.
In recent years, Chinese-made tech-savvy products are also well received in overseas markets.
For instance, made-in-China virtual reality (VR) glasses turned out to be the biggest hit on Alibaba's cross-border e-commerce arm AliExpress during this year's overseas shopping extravaganza, with the sales volume increasing five times year on year since November. The popularity of the high-tech product lies in the immersive experience it provides for football fans to enjoy watching FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The outstanding performance of Chinese brands during overseas shopping festival could not be realized without cross-border e-commerce platforms like Lazada, AliExpress, and Temu.
From the end of October to the beginning of December, some Chinese cross-border e-commerce businesses offered discounts of up to 90 percent to consumers, and provided fare-free and more efficient logistics services. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
