BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- About 37 pieces of artworks from nine foreign exhibitors have been purchased at the just-concluded fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE), with a total turnover of 490 million yuan.
Nine foreign exhibitors include the world's top three auction houses namely Christie's, Sotheby's, and Phillips.
It is noted that the CIIE has implemented a tax exemption policy for exhibitors who sell artworks, collections, and antiquities for three consecutive years in an attempt to further promote the artwork trading volume.
This year's CIIE displays cultural relics and artworks in the consumer goods exhibition area.
The fifth CIIE ran from Nov. 5 to 10 in Shanghai. As the world's first import-themed national-level expo, it has been held in the eastern Chinese metropolis annually since 2018.
