MILAN, Oct 27 (Class Editori) — Abruzzo-based Valagro, a company active in biostimulant products for agriculture, and China's Guangdong Dongpeng Ceramics Co. Ltd., a leader in the ceramics sector, received yesterday in Shanghai the Corradino D'Ascanio award, sponsored by the Abruzzo Region in honor of the Abruzzo aerospace engineer who invented the helicopter and the Vespa. The award ceremony took place in the "House of Roosvelt" in Shanghai, for the first time in China.
With the support of the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, the Regional Council of the Abruzzo Region and the Consiglio Regionale degli Abruzzesi nel Mondo (CRAM), and actively promoted by the "Abruzzesi in China" Association, the Corradino D'Ascanio awarded a plaque of recognition to two companies, respectively based in Abruzzo and with interests in China, based in China and with interests in Italy, that have distinguished themselves by developing an innovative project (product or service) in the industrial field, in the areas of smart manufacturing, digital transformation and energy transition, and that have been particularly active in building business, cultural and innovation relationships between the two countries.
A specific committee composed by academic staff, institutional representatives and members of the Association was appointed to select and evaluate the innovative projects received. The projects of the participating companies were analyzed and rated taking into consideration the following parameters: quality and innovativeness of the project, applicability and potential within the target market, design, eco-sustainability, economic feasibility in terms of cost and duration of the innovative project, and diversity of the innovative project development team.
Valagro was awarded for its high level of innovation, important activity in R&D carried out every year, and especially the leadership achieved in the field of biostimulants, establishing itself as a highly technological company in a complex market such as China. Guangdong Dongpeng Ceramics Co. Ltd., with 50 years of history, was recognized for its commitment to the research and develop of innovative low-carbon and environmentally friendly solutions, also through synergies in Italy and Abruzzo, whose town of Castelli has a centuries-old tradition in ceramics and is recognized as one of the most important ceramic centers in Italy.
