RIYADH, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 6th Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference kicked off on Tuesday in the Saudi capital, with Xinhua News Agency as the first Chinese media outlet to become the event's media partner.
Called "Desert Davos," the FII conference is the largest international investment and innovation forum in the Middle East, attracting a number of political and business leaders every year.
This year's conference is held under the theme "Investing in Humanity: Enabling a New Global Order," gathering 6,000 policymakers, investors and scholars from across the globe. Some 500 Saudi or foreign speakers from different sectors will share their insights.

Richard Attias, CEO of Saudi Future Investment Initiative Association, told Xinhua that it is very important for Chinese entrepreneurs and investors to attend the conference which needs to hear the voice from China.
The media partnership between Xinhua News Agency and the FII conference has further strengthened the cooperation and exchanges between Saudi Arabia and China in various fields, Attias said.
The three-day event will focus on topics such as sustainable development, geo-economic rise and regional peace, and the complex challenges facing the international community in the future.
The FII conference is hosted by the Future Investment Initiative Institute under the guidance of the Saudi Ministry of Investment. The first edition was held in 2017.
