IEG, which is listed in Milan, will open an operating headquarter in Singapore, following the industrial strategy of expansion in the “city of lions,” where it has recently signed a letter of intent (LOI) to acquire two strategic exhibitions on luxury and food from Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS) due to IEG’s already leading position in the two sectors, with Vicenzaoro and Sigep, respectively: they are Singapore International Jewelry Expo (SIJE) and Cafè Asia, Sweet and Bakes Asia, Restaurant Asia.
“The partnership with Singapore Tourism Board marks an additional important step towards IEG’s internationalization and consolidates its presence in Asia,” Corrado Peraboni, CEO of IEG, explained. “Nowadays, Singapore can boast a well-developed economic structure based on services and craftmanship of high added value. It is a key piece in our strategy that aims at affirming IEG as an overall community catalyst for the industries participating in our events, taking them to the most promising markets, creating value in terms of business for the companies that exhibit them, the associations and every stakeholder”.
“We are very pleased with IEG’s decision to open its own office in Singapore and to be able to host internationally renowned events in our city,” Poh Chi Chuan, Executive Director, Exhibitions and Conferences, Singapore Tourism Board, replied. “This new partnership is a testament to the strength of Singapore's economic fundamentals and our positioning as Asia's global hub for MICE and tourism business. We look forward to deepening our partnership with IEG, which is expanding its presence in Singapore and the region through a vibrant trade fair and conference business”.
Francesco Santa, International Business Development Director for IEG, pointed out that the new agreement is a decisive step in the development of its products in Singapore and the entire Southeast Asian region. “Further proof of this is the agreement signed with CEMS for the acquisition of the jewelry and food fairs. The valuable exchange of know-how and innovation between IEG and Singapore will contribute to the strengthening of trade relations with the ASEAN region, which has Singapore as its nerve center, with some of the highest growth rates in the entire global landscape,” Santa stated.
IEG is already present in Asia with world-class brands: in the United Arab Emirates, with Dubai Muscle & Active Show (October 28-30, 2022), the Middle East's leading fitness and body building trade show, and with JGT Dubai (February 12-14, 2023), among the world's largest jewelry exhibitions; in the People's Republic of China, with CDEPE - Chengdu International Environmental Protection Expo (2023), main trade fair on green technologies, and with Sigep China, organized by EAGLE, an IEG company, fair dedicated to ice cream, pastry, bakery and coffee that will debut in 2023 (May 10-12) in Shenzhen, in partnership with Koelnmesse.
