MILAN, Sep 23 (Class Editori) — SACE’s tool to support green transition works well. Contracts and investments covered under the Green Guarantees introduced into the Treasury’s investee’s operation by the 2020 Simplification Decree have reached 5.3 billion euros. In 21 months, 167 deals were concluded, 84% of them with SMEs and mid corporates. These are part of the commitment to sustainable development that is distinguishing the subsidiary’s operations, which has been busy in the past weeks in promoting business opportunities between 80 Italian energy suppliers and a number of large foreign buyers, specifically Brazil’s Braskem, Uzbek Enter Engineering, Turkey’s Çalik, Enka and Tupras, and the Middle East-based Gulf Cryo.
Benefiting from the Green Guarantees offered by the company led by Alessandra Ricci are mainly companies in the infrastructure and construction sectors, with a 54% share of resources. Renewable energy covers about 18% of the resources, metal industry about 6%, while the remaining shares are divided between chemical, petrochemical and mechanical. Another important piece of the puzzle is represented by the green conventions with the banking system for supports from 500,000 euros up to 15 million euros, under which 80 transactions have been finalized so far.
"At Gastech, we met with many Italian suppliers which will help improve the quality of the suppliers we work with, while increasing the competitiveness of their quality products," André Luis Cardoso, Senior Contract Manager at Braskem, pointed out. Braskem is one of the companies to participate in the business matching meetings, the latest in a series of 90 appointments over four years attended by 4,000 Italian companies. "Doing this is especially important in this period of transition for the industry, where we ourselves are trying to be greener by integrating sustainable polymers and solvents into our processes. These are products that need special equipment developed only in Italy".
Yesterday, through SACE's Garanzia SupportItalia, Intesa Sanpaolo finalized a 35-million-euro operation in favor of Bluenergy, an energy multiservice company. The resources will be used to purchase gas for storage, so as to have the possibility, especially in the event of interruption of gas supply from currently active channels, to support the consumption needs of households and SMEs in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
