Commercial vehicle manufacturer Daimler Truck said on Monday it had seen no downturn in its day-to-day business so far despite the gloomy global economic outlook.
"There is still demand in the market for more trucks," Karin Radström, head of Europe and Latin America, told journalists at the IAA Transportation commercial vehicle show in Hanover on Monday.
"At the moment we don't see any signs of a slowdown - however, it can happen quite quickly," she acknowledged.
In Brazil, the manufacturer said it was experiencing a surge in demand following a change in emissions standards, but admitted there will be less business there next year.
She warned however that with a looming recession in key parts of the world due to high energy prices and low consumer sentiment, commercial vehicle manufacturers could come under more significant pressure again.
