BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to Varsen Aghabekian on her assuming office as Palestine's minister of state for foreign affairs and expatriates.
In his message, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China and Palestine are good friends and partners who support and trust each other.
Wang expressed his willing to work with Aghabekian to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations and inject new connotations into China-Palestine strategic partnership under the guidance of the important consensus reached by the two heads of state.
He said China firmly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights, supports the political settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, and will continue to make unremitting efforts to this end.
