BEIJING, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) – China's customs authorities recently introduced 16 measures to support the Nansha District in south China's Guangdong Province to deepen comprehensive cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and enhance Nansha's leading role in expanding the high-standard opening-up, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC).
The measures mainly cover four aspects including enhancing its funcion as an international shipping and logistics hub, supporting construction of key projects, promoting construction of the comprehensive service base for going global of Chinese enterprises, and improving the cohesion of rules in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
Specifically, the Nansha District will pilot mechanisms such as a positive list of cross-border scientific research materials and a "white list" of imported biomedical research and development materials.
At the same time, Hong Kong and Macao scientific research institutions in the Nansha area are expected to enjoy faster clearance of products and samples for scientific research, test, and certification.
Priority will be given to support the development of cross-border e-commerce business in the Nansha region, and to develop a number of bonded related businesses including aircraft bonded leasing and global bonded maintenance.
While optimizing the parallel car imports in Nansha, China has further simplified the customs clearance process of complete vehicles and core spare parts in the district, according to the measures.
Efforts will be given to support leading Chinese enterprises to set up regional headquarters in Nansha to better support enterprises in the fields of large equipment, consumer goods and automobiles to explore foreign markets.
In addition, Nansha District will also accomplish the pilot business of offshore data service by establishing an integrated offshore trade service platform in the region. (Edited by Jiang Feifan with Xinhua Silk Road, 346129473@qq.com)
