BEIJING, June 15 (Xinhua) -- The sales of China's top 100 chain companies reached nearly 2.3 trillion yuan (about 345 billion U.S. dollars) in 2021, down 2.8 percent year on year, reported Securities Daily on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the total number of shops of these companies rose 8.9 percent year on year to nearly 190,000 in 2021.
68 companies out of the 100 ones achieved year-on-year growth in sales, and 60 companies achieved growth in the number of shops. 12 companies realized double-digit growth in both sales and shop numbers.
It is also noteworthy that in 2021, online sales of China's top 100 chain companies hit 470 billion yuan, accounting for 20.6 percent of their total sales.
