WUHAN, June 13 (Xinhua) -- A new China-Europe freight train service was launched on June 10, linking Jingzhou city in Central China's Hubei province with Russia, marking a new international logistics channel between Jingzhou and Europe, reported Hubei Daily on Sunday.

The train carries a total of 50 containers loaded with refrigerators and washing machines produced by Midea Group's Jingzhou factory, valuing about 7.5 million yuan.

Departed from Wuhan, the train will exit from Alashankou Port, through Kazakhstan, and finally arrive in Moscow. The journey of 8,800 kilometers takes 15 days. Compared with offshore shipping, it saves about 20 days in transportation time.

The launch of Jingzhou China-Europe freight train will improve foreign trade customs clearance efficiency, and reduce the cost of foreign trade logistics, as well as help local enterprises to develop overseas markets, said Jingzhou Port Group.

Since the inauguration of Hubei's first China-Europe freight train service Wuhan in 2012, Jingzhou marks the seventh city in the province to launch China-Europe freight train service.
