A freight train loaded with light trucks departed from southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, bound for Laos' Vientiane, on June 9, 2022.
BEIJING,June 9 (Xinhua) -- A freight train carrying 40 light trucks left southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Wednesday for Laos' Vientiane, marking the first whole-vehicle international freight train that runs via the China-Laos Railway with new mode of faster customs clearance.
The new clearance mode launched by the General Administration of Customs could reduce logistics cost and cut shipping time by one to three days for Qingling Motors, manufacturer of the light trucks.
It is reported that Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd., one of the operators on the route, has handled whole-vehicle cargo with a total value of nearly 15 billion yuan (about 2.24 billion U.S. dollars) since 2017.
The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the China-Europe freight train provide stable, convenient, environment-friendly, and efficient logistic passage for China-made goods to go global and for quality foreign products to come into China, said Hu Hongbing, a port and logistics official with the municipal government.
