MILAN, April 5 (Class Editori) — Renewal at the top of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC). In fact, the new members of the Board of Directors for the two-year period 2022-2024 have been elected.
Paolo Bazzoni (Bonfiglioli China) has been confirmed as President. Vice-presidents Matteo Tanteri (Snam Gas & Energy Services), Gaetano Cantalupo (Comau Engineering), Cooper Raphael Paul (Zhuhai NPD Commerce and Trading) and Gianluca Luisi (Chongqing Dezhuang International Trading) will be assisting him in the next two-year period.
The Italian Ambassador in Beijing Luca Ferrari highlighted how this new direction reflects a Chamber of Commerce that "has developed a greater territorial presence, with two new offices inaugurated in Chengdu and Shenzhen, and has registered an increase of almost the double of its own members in the last two years (from 437 to 838), rising from 31st to 11th place in the ranking of the Italian Chambers of Commerce in the world".
Bazzoni outlined the CICC's achievements and goals over the past two years, including a growth in the membership base. At the end of 2021, there were 838 members, with a 92% growth on 2019 (+81% Italian Members; +171% Friends), globally and in individual areas. There was also territorial expansion, with the number of offices increasing from 5 to 7.
Bazzoni highlighted the quantitative and qualitative increase of the activities: among the more than 300 events organized during the two-year period 2020-2022, it is worth to mention the organization of the China-Italy Business Dialogue —a leading event involving important members of the Sino-Italian business community as well as authoritative representatives of Italian and Chinese institutions—, the Italy-China: Energy Transition, the Career Day and the events organized within the project "True Italian Taste", besides conferences, informative seminars and thematic webinars.
