BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), or Guangxi Pilot FTZ, in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region saw 39,000 newly registered enterprises in the year 2021, over 56,000 since the FTZ was launched, 15 times more than before its launch, according to a press conference held on Thursday.
The figures indicate that Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been proactively responding to new development opportunities and promoting high-quality development of opening-up platforms to achieve positive progress in industry, tax, advanced technology and green development.
The China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park, a part of Guangxi Pilot FTZ's Qinzhou Area, has implemented five financial innovation pilot projects with business volume exceeding 11 billion yuan (around 1.73 billion U.S. dollars). Preferential policies for two-way cross-border flow of RMB received approval to be promoted within the whole FTZ, realizing successful implementation in the Nanning Area.
Since the year 2021, the pilot FTZ achieved 84 institutional innovation results at provincial level and launched Guangxi’s first Qualified Foreign Limited Partner (QFLP) program, optimizing facilitation for cross-border investment and financing.
Foreign investment actually used by Guangxi Pilot FTZ totaled 738 million U.S. dollars in 2021, with total value of imports and exports reaching around 200.06 billion yuan. Other achievements of the FTZ include introducing 55 enterprises ranked within top 500 in China or in the world, accelerating construction of the China-ASEAN Business Center, and launching the RCEP Enterprise Service Center, among others.
