MILAN, Dec. 28 (Class Editori) — International logistics Rif Line Group has founded Kalypso, the new shipping company that will connect Italy with China and Bangladesh.
A statement notes that, at the moment, Kalypso's fleet consists of three ships, to which a fourth one will be added soon. Two of these will connect the Italian ports of Civitavecchia and Salerno with those of Taicang and Da Chan Bay, in China. Songa Cheetah and Cape Flores, two 1,200 Teu container ships, will instead connect the Italian Adriatic coast, and specifically Ravenna, with Chattogram, in Bangladesh.
In detail, Rif Line has already allocated more than 25 million dollars and is preparing to invest as much by 2022 in this project. Kalypso will be based in Genoa and will have an initial capital of 10 million euros.
The freight forwarding company has recently invested in its own shipping service, which directly connects the ports of Shanghai and Civitavecchia, extending its network also to the Campania-based port.
A short time after the launch, and with the arrival of the first cargo in Civitavecchia thanks to the immediate and extremely positive feedback received from the market, Rif Line was able to immediately organize and officially announce a double enhancement of its shipping service by adding the new strategic destination of Shenzhen and by increasing its fleet that already included the Iberian Express and the Cape Flores with the entry of the Green Ocean.
