BEIJING, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region recently issued the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for promoting the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and a higher level of opening-up to the outside world, clarifying that it will promote regional economic prosperity and international cooperation, reported Ningxia Daily Monday.
According to the plan, Ningxia will open multiple domestic and international air routes connecting Ningxia with countries and regions in Central Asia and Northeast Asia, to maintain close exchange and cooperation with domestic cities and foreign countries through sound transportation connectivity.
To further strengthen the pillar role of the wine industry in Ningxia's economic development, Ningxia proposed to set up a comprehensive pilot area of grape and wine industry, strive to create a wine trading platform.
Meanwhile, Ningxia also proposed to apply to the central government to establish a free trade zone (FTZ) to develop a higher level opening-up pilot zone in inland China.
According to the plan, efforts will also be made to build a modern industrial system in Ningxia represented by hydrogen energy and high-end equipment manufacturing sectors. At the same time, international collaborations among enterprises will be recommended to deepen win-win outcome.
