MILAN, Aug. 30 (Class Editori) — 111 Chinese agricultural enterprises will join The China Day Overture of Macfrut 2021, which is scheduled for next September 6 and will be held both physically and virtually.
The China Day 2021, the virtual event presented by Ma Hongtao, Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Centre of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, will be a great opportunity for worldwide experts in the fruit and vegetable sector interested in trading with China.
The event, which can be found on macfrutdigital.com, has been organized with the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (ATPC) —the Chinese government body that promotes agricultural products— and more than 9,000 buyers, mainly from foreign countries, will attend it.
Given the excellent results achieved with the last edition of Macfrut Digital, when the Chinese pavilion had about 120,000 visits and exhibitors received orders worth more than 10 million dollars in total, the ATPC has decided to place a strong focus on Macfrut.
"China has chosen Macfrut as a benchmark fair for its fruit and vegetable trade. With this project, we will reap what was sown in the first edition of Macfrut Digital, which was attended by a huge number of Chinese companies," Renzo Piraccini, President of Macfrut, explained. "The Agricultural Trade Promotion Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China was very satisfied with the trade fair and has therefore decided to take part in an even more important project, which will offer Italian companies a great opportunity to do business with this giant Asian country".
"Over the years, Macfrut has become one of the most influential fruit and vegetable trade fairs in Europe and in the Mediterranean region," Ma Hongtao, Director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Centre of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, stated. "In addition to the excellent joint contribution of China and Italy to continuously develop and strengthen the Belt and Road Initiative, and to the ongoing expansion of agricultural trade and of the trade in agricultural products between these two countries, Macfrut will continue to be a vital link between the European and Chinese markets. With its capacity for innovation in the field of services relating to international purchasing, trade and accurate business matchmaking, it is sure to become a crucial global trading platform for the fruit and vegetable industry".
It is the only fair that will see such a strong presence from China. All stands will be visible in three languages: Italian, English and Chinese. An interpreting service will be provided to exhibitors and buyers during B2B meetings. In addition to the trade part, an Italy-China Forum on business opportunities in the fruit and vegetable supply chain will also be held.
Macfrut Fruit & Veg Professional Show, the 38th international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector to be held from 7 to 9 September 2021 in Rimini (Italy), is one of the leading events of the Rimini Fair organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) together with Veronafiere.
Macfrut, the largest physical fair for fruits and vegetables, also celebrates another important global anniversary: the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables declared by the FAO. And precisely for this reason a series of international events organized during the three days of the fair aim to promote the many positive aspects of this sector that will be unveiled in the coming months.
The fruit and vegetable sector is essential for the Italian agri-food industry, that is worth over 15 billion euros and one third of which is covered by exports (5.144 billion euros in 2020, up 3.8% y-o-y). For the first time, the International Asparagus Days-IAD will be held at the same time as Macfrut, thus creating important synergies and opportunities for the 25 exhibiting companies.
