BEIJING, July 12 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is formulating a three-year plan for the new infrastructure construction of the Internet of Things (IoT), according to Zhu Xiumei, an official of MIIT, quoted by Shanghai Securities News on Monday.
Zhu made the remarks at the 8th International Summit on Sensing Technology of the Internet of Things which kicked off last Friday in Yueqing city, east China's Zhejiang Province.
In recent years, the MIIT has introduced a series of policies to support development of the IoT. In particular, it has put the high-quality development of sensors on an important agenda, said Zhu, adding that the ministry released a three-year action plan for the development of smart sensor industry from 2017 to 2019.
According to Zhu, the ministry will further promote the innovation and development of IoT sensing technology in aspects including expanding industrial ecology and widening the application scale. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, Wang Siyi, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
