InfoQuest (June 21, 2021) -- According to Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the Center for the COVID-19 Situation Administration, Phuket will be taken as a pilot to open to foreign tourists from July 1.
The specific provisions on the pilot are as follows:
I. Before entry: Only tourists from low-risk and medium-risk countries are accepted. Tourists must complete vaccination at least 14 days before departure and hold vaccination certificate, negative nucleic acid test certificate within 72 hours, etc.
II. Arrival: Tourists must download and install the English version of Mor Chana APP, and take the designated vehicle to the residence designated by Safety and Health Administration. After check-in, they can go to tourist attractions in Phuket if they are tested negative.
Tourists visiting Phuket must stay in Phuket for at least 14 days.
Tourists may go out of their residence or use the services provided around the residence when visiting Koh Samui, Ko Pha Ngan and Koh Tao on the 1st-3rd day of their residence; go to tourist attractions in a closed way and visit the designated tourist spots on the 4th-7th day; freely visit Southern Thailand Archipelago, Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao on the 8th-14th day.
After entering Thailand, tourists must be tested for nucleic acid on the 6th-7th day and the 12th-13th day respectively.
III. Before departure: When leaving Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan and Koh Tao for other places in Thailand, tourists must show proof that they have lived in the residence designated by SHA or ALQ for enough days. They also need to show the nucleic acid test results issued by the government-level infectious disease prevention and control committee.
The Center approved the establishment of the Phuket Tourism Sandbox Management Committee, added spokesman Taweesin. Meanwhile,other work, such as suggestion boxes, pandemic prevention and control, and provision of sufficient medical resources, equipment and wards, are underway.
The Phuket Sandbox project may be postponed or cancelled in case of the following circumstances:
1. Over 90 new cases/week in Phuket;
2. The pandemic occurs in over three counties and six towns in Phuket;
3. Over three cluster outbreaks in Phuket, or wide rangewith unknown source;
4. 80 percent of beds in Phuket are occupied by COVID-19 patients;
5. Virus mutation strain appears and spreads widely.
In the face of the pandemic, it is necessary tosuspend some events, seal routes, conduct hotel quarantine, and reconsider and cancel the Phuket Sandboxproject.
