BEIJING, April 16 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province has recently unveiled a plan to promote digitalization, striving to build and open 100,000 5G base stations within this year, according to the local newspaper on Friday.
In terms of digital government construction, the province aims to improve the "Internet + government services", strengthen the application of electronic certificates, and promote cross-provincial mutual recognition for easy handling of the government affairs.
According to the plan, Shandong will make efforts to speed up the development of digital industrialization. It will promote innovation and breakthroughs in key areas such as integrated circuits, build about 10 digital industry clusters such as new smart terminals and ultra-high-definition video, and cultivate about 100 industrial Internet innovation demonstration enterprises.
Efforts will be made to improve communication infrastructure in the province which will promote in-depth coverage of 5G networks in key enterprises, industrial parks, commercial buildings, etc., and build a batch of data centers. (Edited by Hu Pingchao with Xinhua Silk Road, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
