BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- More than 1.36 billion Chinese people were covered by the basic medical-insurance system by the end of 2020, with coverage stabilizing at 95 percent of the country's population, according to a report released by the National Healthcare Security Administration.
Among them, 344 million were covered by the basic medical-insurance program for urban employees as of the year end, rising 4.6 percent from the previous year, said the report on the development of China's medical-insurance system in 2020 published on Monday.
Meanwhile, about 1.02 billion people were registered for the plan for rural and non-working urban residents, down 0.8 percent from the previous year, data from the report showed. Enditem
