BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Construction on 236 projects with a total investment of 176.7 billion yuan kicked off on Tuesday in southeast China's Fujian Province.
As the first batch of projects initiated by Fujian during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), they include 48 infrastructure projects with a total investment of 18.9 billion yuan, 138 industrial projects involving a total investment of 125.8 billion yuan, and 50 social well-being projects with a total investment of 32 billion yuan.
Yin Li, secretary of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), pointed out that it is necessary to reserve a batch of projects, especially major industrial projects and infrastructure projects that can improve people's livelihoods.
Meanwhile, Yin said that efforts should be made to introduce a series of leading projects with promising prospect so as to help stabilize industrial chain, continue to optimize business environment, improve efficiency and provide targeted services.
Wang Ning, governor of Fujian Province, noted that Fujian Province should center around new growth points including digital economy and maritime economy to introduce more big projects and industrial projects, and offer necessary services to ensure the early implementation of projects.
