BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- The foreign trade volume of the Shandong Comprehensive Bonded Zone in east China's Shandong Province surged 25.5 percent year on year to 252.27 billion yuan in 2020, according to local customs.
The foreign trade volume accounted for 11.5 percent of the province's total import and export volume in 2020, driving the growth of Shandong's imports and exports to increase by 2.5 percent, which has become an important force for Shandong to stabilize foreign trade and maintain the stability of the industrial chain supply chain.
It is noted that in recent years, Shandong customs has been committed to helping the comprehensive bonded areas to build five major centers, including processing and manufacturing, Research & Design (R&D), logistics distribution, inspection and maintenance, and sales and service.
Qingdao, a major port city in Shandong Province, has put in use 21 innovative supervision systems in various comprehensive bonded areas under its customs jurisdiction, such as the classified supervision of stored goods which benefited nearly 400 enterprises in the area.
Meanwhile, Qingdao Customs has also implemented simplified customs declaration procedures for import and export goods to improve the efficiency of customs clearance. By Far, a total of 13 comprehensive bonded areas have been established in 9 cities in Shandong Province, ranking third in the country.
