CHANGCHUN, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd., a passenger car joint venture between China FAW Group Co., Ltd. and Volkswagen AG, reported strong auto sales in January.
Its vehicle sales soared 27.7 percent year on year to 241,587 units last month. Of the total sales, the Volkswagen brand sold 140,499 units, and the sales under the Audi and Jetta brands reached 86,888 units and 14,200 units, respectively, the carmaker said.
Founded in 1991, FAW-Volkswagen has grown into one of the best-selling passenger vehicle manufacturers in the world's largest auto market. The carmaker currently has five production bases across China. Enditem
