SHIJIAZHUANG, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- North China's Hebei Province saw its foreign trade grow 10.2 percent year on year to 441.04 billion yuan (about 68.5 billion U.S. dollars) in 2020, local authorities said Friday.
Of the total, the export volume was 252.19 billion yuan, up 6.4 percent year on year, and the total import volume grew by 15.8 percent to 188.85 billion yuan, according to a provincial press briefing.
The export of anti-epidemic products saw a major rise last year, with surges in the exports of masks, protective suits and gloves, and pharmaceuticals, said Guan Weiren, an official with the customs of the capital city Shijiazhuang.
The province's foreign trade with Australia, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) members, and the United States grew by 23.4 percent, 14.1 percent and 24.9 percent year on year, respectively.
Hebei Province, China's leading producer of iron and steel, is a major consumer of iron ore. Enditem
