Thai Prime Minister urges subsidies for combating COVID-19

InfoQuest (January 12, 2021) - Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha of Thailand headed for the Prime Minister's Office. Mr. Supattanapong Punmeechaow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Finance, and Mr. Dechapiwat Na Songkhla, Director of the Budget Office visited the Prime Minister's Office to discuss the use of subsidies to help people affected by the COVID-19. It remains to be seen will relevant measures be proposed and deliberated at the cabinet council tomorrow (January 12).

After the visit, Mr. Supattanapong said the relevant matters of the subsidies were under discussion and stressed that measures will be implemented in an all-around manner. The subsidy will be 4,000 baht, according to people familiar with the matter and such amount will be confirmed in the press conference tomorrow.

"Whether the subsidy measures will last for two months will be revealed in tomorrow's press conference." Mr. Supattanapong said.
