BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Sino-Belarusian scientific and technological achievements industrialization and innovation R&D center was officially put into operation on Wednesday, in the China-Belarus Industrial Park, which was built by China in Belarus.
As a landmark project under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the China-Belarus Industrial Park will see more scientific and technological cooperation in the future and provide new opportunities for high-tech enterprises from various countries thanks to the establishment of the new R&D center, which will help the high-quality development of the industrial park, said Xie Xiaoyong, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus.
The Sino-Belarusian scientific and technological achievements industrialization and innovation R&D center is a major project of the China-Belarus Industrial Park which has great significance in enhancing the industrial park's competitiveness and investment attractiveness, said Krutoy, deputy director of the president's office of Belarus.
With a total construction area of 19,000 square meters, the R&D center started construction in December 2018 with the economic and technical assistance funds provided by the Chinese government.
Located near the Minsk International Airport, the China-Belarus Industrial Park is the largest investment promotion project in Belarus. The industrial park has attracted 68 enterprises from 14 countries including China, Belarus, Russia, the United States and Germany, with a contracted investment value of 1.22 billion U.S. dollars.
