BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The largest logistics base of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbs in northwest China, located in the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park in Shaanxi province, official started operation on last Saturday, according to report by China Central Television.
The logistics base, built by Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Holding Group Co., Ltd., is a platform for the processing, trade, quality inspection, information traceability and services of TCM herbs to push forward the development of TCM, said Li Yuan, general manager of the group.
According to the report, high-quality TCM from all over the country will be transported from the logistics base to countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) by China-Europe freight trains, with logistics costs sharply reduced.
TCM has played an important role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. To promote TCM, Shaanxi has built three logistics bases and 15 planting and processing bases of TCM herbs. (Edited by Su Dan with Xinhua Silk Road, sudan@xinhua.org)
