MILAN, Nov 19 (Class Editori) – A craft tradition, which, for more than 115 years, has been creating unique jewelry pieces in the Florentine atelier on Ponte Vecchio. It is inside the historical factory settled under the Corridoio Vasariano where, since 1903, master goldsmiths and gemmologists share their own Fratelli Piccini-branded vision: a vision which, still today, is handed down by Elisa Tozzi Piccini, representing the fourth generation of the founder family.
“Currently, we are focusing on highly-couture jewelry and, indeed, we are concentrating on customized service assistance to the client. The bespoke jewelry request is increasing in a holistic manner and this encourages us to invest in this field”, as the CEO, who has taken control of the company in 2013, has explained to MFF. “We are giving great importance to a new interpretation of cult pieces in our historical archive. My creative exercises with unusual stones alongside unconventional materials are the essence of my contemporary jewelry vision”.
The reference markets of the company traditionally are the USA, in addition to Italy, the European area and the developing Chinese market; however, the link with the cultural heritage of Florence remains essential. Recently, the brand has lent its own high-jewelry creations to Dolce&Gabbana, for its two-day maxi event which was staged in Florence at the beginning of September; however, donations and financings for city’s artworks restoration date back to the early ‘90s.
“Currently, we are continuing to support charity foundations on our territory, which today are more needed than ever. Surely, in the next future, our path will cross the art world again, as well as the heritage of our city. It is written in our DNA”, as Elisa Tozzi Piccini has explained. The Armando Piccini Awards, instead, was launched in 2017: it is a jewelry design competition aimed at bringing new talents closer to the gold art, according to the businesswoman’s desire. “To us, training is fundamental: it represents the cornerstone of our job. Commitment must be constant and also this year, despite the difficulties, we have managed to promote the second edition in collaboration with the Polytechnic of Milan and OMA-Observatory of “artistic crafts”. Unfortunately, the awards ceremony will have to take place online”, she has concluded. (All rights reserved)
