HAIKOU, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- South China's island province of Hainan has invested 980 million yuan in supporting 5G constructions in the first three quarters of the year, accounting for 36.4 percent of the province's total investment on new infrastructure construction, reported Hainan Daily Saturday.
During the same period, four leading enterprises engaged with Hainan's telecommunication industry, such as China Mobile Limited Hainan branch, completed a total of 2.69 billion yuan in fixed-asset investment, up 14.4 percent year on year.
In 2019, Hainan built 1,207 5G base stations with full coverage of 5G network among all the cities and county-level cities. The full scope of the 5G application in the province is expected to achieve by April 2021.
In addition, efforts will also be made in regulating the telecommunications market, optimizing network speed, and reducing network charges.
