MILAN, Sept 14 (Class Editori) - The promotion of the Italian wine in China restarts from Shanghai. The financial hub hosts the first stage of the Vinitaly roadshow, the B2B event organized by Veronafiere together with the partner Pacco Communication Group, ICE Agency and in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ network.
In the following days, the event will be held not only in Shanghai, but also in Xiamen, on September 16, and Chengdu, on September 18. 65 exhibitor companies take part in the edition 2020 (10 companies more than in the previous edition) with 700 labels of Italian wines. Among the many initiatives, the following ones are forecasted: B2B meetings addressed to importers and the hospitality sector, both physically and digitally; initiatives addressed to the owners of art galleries, wine bars, fine dining restaurants, design studios; walk-around tasting and masterclasses dedicated to the topic “Chinese women and the Italian wine”, curated by the Vinitaly International Award 2019 Leon Liang and by the first VIA Academy Expert, Lingzi He, and to the topic “Italian wine and Chinese food service”, held by the unique Chinese Master of Sommelier, Yang LV. Lastly, also wine buyers and trainers will be present, with the participation of the most important Chinese wine training schools, based in the provinces of Sichuan, Guizhou and in the Chongqing Municipality.
The roadshow is taking place two months before Wine to Asia, the new exhibition dedicated to the professionals of the wine sector in the Asia/Pacific area, which will be set up in the new Exhibition centre of Shenzhen on November 9-11, 2020. Three days of meetings, tastings and networking opportunities, where producers coming from all over the world may meet the most important Asian buyers.
Only in Shenzhen, as Vinitaly has reminded, there are over 3,000 import companies of wine & spirits and, in the province of Guangdong, 30% of Chinese suppliers is active.
In addition, during the road show, the activity of the Fondazione Arena di Verona will be promoted. Moreover, on September 13-19, the first week of the Italian wine- "Italian Wine Week"- has been organised in Shanghai. It will be held in 20 wine bars and bistros, while on the largest e-commerce platform dedicated to natural wines- Bruto- a special section addressed to Italian producers will be opened during the same week.
