ROME, July 28 (Xinhua) -- One of Chinese electric vehicle leaders BYD has recently entered a three-year strategic partnership with Italian football powerhouse Inter Milan, becoming the club's official global automotive partner.
"We're proud to join forces with Inter Milan," said Stella Li, executive vice president of BYD. "The club's strong international presence resonates with BYD's global vision. Our shared values of passion, innovation, and future-focused development create a solid foundation for long-term collaboration."
Giorgio Ricci, chief revenue officer of Inter Milan, welcomed the partnership: "This agreement unites two forward-looking global entities. It will generate new opportunities for international engagement and content development, while reinforcing BYD's position as a pioneer in sustainable mobility worldwide."
Under the deal, BYD will supply the club with a fleet of approximately 70 new energy vehicles, including fully electric and super plug-in hybrid (DM-i) models. According to BYD, the initiative aims to integrate sustainable transport into the club's daily operations and promote low-emission mobility across the football community.
The collaboration comes amid strong momentum for BYD in international markets. In just the first half of 2025, the company's overseas sales exceeded 470,000 units, surpassing the full-year total for 2024, which reflects a year-on-year increase of over 130 percent.
Going forward, BYD and Inter Milan will join forces to provide high-quality green mobility solutions driven by technological innovation, with the shared goal of building a better, more sustainable future.
