BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) – A freight train loaded with semi-finished and raw materials produced by LG Electronics, South Korea's tech behemoth, left Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province on September 4, marking the first of its kind in Shaanxi, reported Shaanxi Daily Monday.
The freight train, fully loaded with 42 containers of products, including LCD panels, electrodes, and aluminum foil products with a total value of 3.3 million U.S. dollars, is bound for Slawkow in Poland.
On its 10-day trip to Poland, the train will pass three countries, namely Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine.
Goods from Japan, and South Korea can be assembled in Xi'an and transport to Europe via the freight train service, laying solid foundation for the trade exchanges between China, Japan, and South Korea.
Founded in 1947, the LG Electronics has established more than 300 overseas offices in 171 countries and regions around the world, and it has shipped about 1,100 containers of semi-finished and raw materials via the China-Europe freight trains since July 2019.
