BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The local government of southwest China's Yunnan Province vowed to continue to strengthen the development of the new energy vehicles (NEV) industry, according to a leading group meeting held on July 15, reported the local newspaper Yunnan Daily Thursday.
As an essential measure in promoting Yunnan's advanced manufacturing and industrial transformation, the facilitation of the NEV industry requires Yunnan to give priority to leading enterprises to increase production capacities.
While Yunnan provides better-charging equipment for new energy vehicles in the province, it will also focus on eliminating various new energy vehicles' problems.
NEV enterprises will be encouraged to invest and set up plants in Yunnan, incorporating technology innovation and product marketing, to enhance the competitiveness of the NEV industry in the province.
Yunnan will also be committed to increasing NEVs' use in the public sector to gain the market share and public recognition of the NEVs in the province.
