HAIKOU, China, July 5 (Xinhua) -- China's master plan for the Hainan free trade port, released on June 1, has boosted the appeal of the southern island province to sports events organizers.
The new policies focus on investment, trade and capital flow to overseas enterprises. It will also serve to attract overseas enterprises or institutions to establish their regional headquarters in Hainan.
The Hainan free trade port is set to further open up visa-free access, which is conducive to hosting international competitions.
The national table tennis south base, T2 Diamond table tennis tournament hall and F1H2O UIM World Championship are expected to take place in Hainan, according to local authorities.
Xu Xianghong, an official from Hainan's sports bureau, said that Hainan sports development would make good use of free trade port policies to build Hainan as an international sports training base and competition center. Enditem
