BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The Universal Beijing Resort has completed its first phase of main building constructions, local authorities said on Thursday.
The construction projects, which started in August 2018, include the Universal Studios theme park, hotels, and other facilities. The theme park is scheduled to open in 2021, and is expected to receive more than 10 million visitors each year.
The theme park has seven "themed lands," including the Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Many of the theme lands will be the first of their kind in the world.
Located in Beijing's Tongzhou District, the resort occupies about 400 hectares in the cultural tourism zone. Enditem
