MILAN, June 16 (Class Editori) -- The agreement for the joint construction of the Chinese-Italian Innovation Town has been signed. The agreement between the Nanjing Lishui Economic Development Zone and Chic Group aims at creating an industrial park dedicated to scientific-technological innovation which will be built in the Lishui district.
The Innovation Town was entirely designed by Chic Group, also in charge of attracting investments and operating the project. Based on the geographical advantages of Lishui and the Italian strategic expertise in the field of science and technology, the Innovation Town will serve as a collaborative laboratory for the development of science, technology and innovation in Nanjing.
The project occupies an area of over 1.2 square km near the ecological park of Lake Sanshan in a strategic position for access to transport and communication routes. The project is part of the "Belt and Road Initiative", and has as its pillars the Chinese-Italian bilateral collaboration and the "Four New": new technology, new industry, new commercial activities, and new systems. It is also committed to building an intelligent city of national importance that integrates resources dedicated to research & development, with the support of services, office and business spaces, but also lifestyle, leisure and entertainment activities, promoting the integration of international talents, making it a smart city that meets their work, education and leisure needs. The construction of the Chinese-Italian Innovation Town will take shape by 2025 and will be an important testimony to the high quality of Nanjing's development.
"Italy has been seriously affected by the pandemic and industries must urgently find their way out of the crisis in foreign markets. At the same time, China is taking multiple measures to actively promote consumption," said Marcello Tsai, CEO of the Chic Group.
The signing ceremony for the start of the work of the Chinese-Italian Innovation Town took place in the context of the Nanjing Tech Week 2020, an international event dedicated to innovation, to launch a positive message of mutual economic solidarity between the two countries and international cooperation in the fields of science, technology, economics and culture. Lishui aims at becoming a national and international point of reference for the China-Italy collaboration.
