BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Chongchuan District in Nantong City, east China's Jiangsu Province, unveiled a plan to build a provincial-level Internet of Vehicles (IoV) pilot zone on Wednesday.
The district also held an opening ceremony for the launch of IoV application scenario demonstration project.
According to the plan, Chongchuan District will build a 5G-V2X IoV pilot zone taking an area of 105 square kilometers and a vehicle-road collaborative bus demonstration route application project, involving an investment of 46 million yuan.
Chongchuan District boasts advantages in electronic information, auto parts and network security. The development of its IoV industry is oriented to the cultivation of IoV terminals and intelligent roadside facility industry chain.
"Through the building of IoV pilot zone, we hope to showcase Chongchuan's unique industrial advantages, preferential talent introduction policies, first-class entrepreneurial platform and complete supporting facilities, which can help attract more high-level talents and industrial chain enterprises to settle in Chongchuan," said Liu Hao, member of the Standing Committee of the Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Chongchuan District Party Committee.
"We will continue to promote the industrial ecological layout and pilot zone construction, and make our own contribution to Jiangsu Province's efforts to build a leading IoV demonstration zone in the nationwide," said Jiang Dong, deputy mayor of Nantong Municipal People's Government.
