MILAN, May 14 (Class Editori) - The Italy-China medical air bridge addressed to face the COVID emergency is going on, with two special cargos which should arrive today in Italy.
A first shipping has been organized thanks to SNAM, which has covered all the costs related to the flight operated by Neos. The airplane has departed from Beijing and its aim is delivering personal protective equipment to the Italian Civil Protection and many other bodies, such as Campania and Marche Regions, the Guardia di Finanza (Financial police), the Revenues Agency, the Italian Red Cross, the cities of Marsala, Palermo, Prato and Rome as well as the hospitals of Bergamo and Careggi.
This material has been partly purchased and partly donated, by – among the others - the Association of Chinese students who have graduated at the Florence University (Tang Zhu), the Authorities of the Autonomous Region of Ningxia Hui, CASIUC (China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation), ICBC, the Industrial Commercial bank of China, the biggest public bank, the State Taxation Administration of the People’s Republic of China and Maccaferri.
A second aircraft has departed from Shenzhen, instead; on board, the suppliesacquired by the structure supporting the Extraordinary Commissioner for the COVID-19 emergency. Overall, the operation in cooperation with the Embassy of Italy and the Italian diplomatic-consular network in China, will allow to bring to Italy over 16 million masks, 30 lung ventilators, 50,000 protective coveralls, 1,000 goggles, 250,000 pair of gloves and 50,000 shoe covers.
Last week another one took off from Shenzhen to Rome, in partnership with the Embassy of Italy and the Consulate General in Canton with 10 million masks and 90,000 protective coveralls on board, which have been purchased by the same structure supporting the Extraordinary Commissioner and the Italian Civil Protection Department.
“The air bridge will continue in the following days with further shipping of medical materials from different areas of China to our country”, according to what the Italian Embassy in Beijing has explained.
Every day, only from the Shanghai Pudong airport, almost 400 charters depart to reach different destinations worldwide, all of which with material to combat COVID-19 on board.
