BEIJING, May 9(Xinhua) -- China's export value reached 1.41 trillion yuan in April, resuming a positive growth of 8.2 percent year-on-year compared to the decline of 3.5 percent in March, statistics from the General Administration of Customs showed.
It is learned that while the total volume of imports and exports has steadily rebounded, China's foreign trade has further optimized its structure.
In terms of trade methods, the proportion of general trade has increased. In the first 4 months, China's general trade reached 5.43 trillion yuan, accounting for 59.8 percent of total foreign trade, up 0.2 percentage point from that in the same period last year.
During the period, China's trade with ASEAN, the largest trading partner of the country, valued 1.35 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.7 percent, accounting for 14.9 percent of total foreign trade value.
China's total imports and exports to countries along Belt and Road routes were 2.76 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.9 percent, accounting for 30.4 percent of the total.
